Players train with academy coaches from PSV, Feyenoord, and Excelsior, hosted at Excelsior's facility in the Netherlands, with a strong focus on academy training plus 2 official game days against local academy opposition — and a ticket to De Klassieker, live at Stadion Feijenoord (date subject to the KNVB match schedule). The trip also includes goalkeeper-specific training, an official certificate from the hosting club, and a full slate of off-field experiences for players and the families traveling with them.

Who Is This For
Open to All Surf Members
This trip is open to all Surf members — Academy and Premier — U8 through U19, across every region. Registration is age group specific: players train and compete within their own age group, so you don't need a team behind you to go. If your teammates sign up too, you'll be together. Extended family, siblings, and grandparents are all welcome to join the trip as well.

What does the trip fee cover, and what doesn't it cover?
The total cost is $2,850 per person. This covers accommodation, breakfast daily, all trainings and game days, the De Klassieker match ticket, all listed excursions, player kit laundry, and sports injury insurance. It does not cover flights, lunch/dinner, or personal spending money. See the full Cost Breakdown above.
Is there a payment plan available?
Yes. A non-refundable deposit of $500 per person in your party is due September 9, with the remaining balance due by October 15.
Who are the players competing against during the 2 game days?
Games are played against local Dutch academy teams matched to each group's age and level — not the first team or top academy squads of PSV, Feyenoord, or Excelsior directly. The trip also includes a ticket to De Klassieker (Feyenoord vs. Ajax), live at Stadion Feijenoord in Rotterdam — the exact date (Nov 28 or 29) is set by the KNVB match schedule. Teams traveling together as a full squad can request a tougher customized matchup.
What ages/skill levels can attend?
Open to all Surf members — Academy and Premier — U8–U19, and their families. On the trip, players will be grouped by age and gender.
Can my other children or extended family come along?
Yes — siblings, grandparents, and extended family are all welcome. This is designed as a family trip built around a player.
Can my child travel or attend without a parent?
No. Players must travel with a parent or guardian.
Do I need to book my own flight, and does it matter which airline?
Yes, flights are booked separately by each family, which gives you the flexibility to use points, choose your own airline, and pick your own travel dates. Direct flights from Seattle to Amsterdam are available on Delta, KLM, and Air France. Everyone should plan to arrive Nov 22 — staff will be at the airport throughout the day to transport arriving families to the hotel (about an hour away).
Who is supervising players on the trip?
Players are coached and supervised by staff from the club plus European academy coaching providers on-site. The group stays together at HUP Hotel for the full trip.
What happens if my child gets hurt or sick during the trip?
Players are covered by sports injury insurance for the duration of the trip.
Do players need a passport?
Yes — please confirm your player's (and any traveling family member's) passport is current well before departure. An ESTA/visa is not currently required for US citizens traveling to the Netherlands (this only applies to some other European destinations); confirm current requirements closer to departure since travel rules can change.
What if my child can't attend after registering — is there a refund policy?
The $500 per person deposit is non-refundable. Once the full balance is paid, it is non-refundable as well if a player withdraws.
What should players pack, and is there a packing list?
A full packing list goes out after registration, along with the finalized itinerary and a pre-departure briefing. Player kit laundry is included during the trip, so players don't need to pack for all 9 days at once.
